SGF gets 2 special assistants

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Ambassador Baba Gana Kingibe, has confirmed the appointment of two Special Assistants in his office. They are Dr. Shettima Bukar Abba, Special Assistant (Administration) and Mrs. Dupe Ajayi Gbadebo, Special Assistant (Communications).

Dr. Abba started his career as an Assistant Lecturer at the College of Basic Studies, Maiduguri, in 1977 and became a Senior Lecturer at the University of Maiduguri in 2003. He was at various times the Permanent Secretary in the ministry of education, Permanent Secretary, Central Administration, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) also of Borno state and one-time Deputy Dean, School of Post-graduate Studies, University of Maiduguri.
A holder of M.Sc. and Ph.D in Geography from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom in 1985 and 1988, Dr. Abba was also at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Jos and the Bayreuth University, Germany, where he obtained his first degree and Masters degrees. He is married with children.
Mrs. Gbadebo who is both a journalist and a lawyer built up a career in journalism dating back to her days in the Punch Newspapers which she joined in 1979 as Editor of its “Happy Home” Magazine and later political correspondent. She was at various times the Political Editor and later Diplomatic Editor of the Guardian, Political Editor Sunday Times, Editor, Weekend Times, Group Political Editor, Daily Times and in the year 2000, became the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of the Sketch Press Limited. She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors; Fellow of the Nuffield Press at Wolfson College, Cambridge University and also a member of International Women Media Foundation, Washington.
Mrs. Gbadebo has a Masters degree in Communication Arts from the University of Ibadan in 1994 followed by a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands, in 1988 and she was called to the Bar as a Barrister in 1999. She has also recently completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Programme at the University of Ibadan. She is married with children.
