States, LGs shared N6trn...From 1999--2005, says ministry report
More than N6 trillion was shared to states and local governments from the federation account between June 1999 and December last year.
A federal ministry of finance publication released under the transparency initiative, captured the funds released to include federation shares, excess crude and value added tax.
The allocations to the 36 states and FCT and the 774 local government councils indicated that the oil producing states of Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Ondo, recorded the highest earnings of between N321 billion and N238 billion.
Bauchi state which got more than N146.2 billion was placed among the top 20 states that collected more than N140 billion during the period.
The state also ranked among the top three in the North with Kano which got N254.4 billion and Kaduna N177.4 billion.
Bauchi received more than N58.2 billion for its 16 local governments with the Metropolitan and Toro councils as top earners.
