Ondo debunks rumour on hospital equipment
The Ondo State government has debunked insinuations that the equipment at the Critical Care Unit of the state Specialist Hospital, Akure, was borrowed for inauguration.
Yinka Oladoyinbo, Akure - 17.07.2007
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Kehinde Adedeji, who said this during the inspection of the hospital, also said the unit would be ready for operation this week.
Adedeji described the rumour as unfortunate, adding the equipment was on ground and would be put to use when the unit became operational.
It will be recalled that the unit was part of the projects executed by the Olusegun Agagu’s administration and was inaugurated during the visit of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to the state.
But some people had alleged that the equipment that were shown to the president during the visit were borrowed for the inauguration.
The commissioner, however, said the medical personnel required at the unit were on training at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State.
