Addressing party supporters at Hotel Presidential Enugu Wednesday the Presidential aspirant under the platform of PDP who was in Enugu to canvass for supporters said it was the turn of the people of the area to produce the next President of Nigeria “as God’s time has come and having the opportunity to choose the successor of President Obasanjo a great leader Nigeria has ever produced.
Odili said “it was Obasanjo that made it possible to relieve the country of the heavy debt burden that has made it possible for Nigeria to be accepted in the comity of nations and at the same time attract foreign investors”.
He reminded PDP members who came to welcome him not to allow any other political party to take over what rightly belongs to the party and Enugu being the former capital of former Eastern region and since it was the seat of power in those good old days should play important role to ensure that he was nominated at the forthcoming party’s convention.
Odili assured the people that steady power supply; free education and access to good health that should not be for the rich alone would be his priority and urged the people to build a foundation where people would be taken care of.
The Enugu State PDP chairman Chief Onyioha Nwanjoku assured him that God willing he will be the candidate to beat at the convention.
In his entourage was Chief M. T. Mbu, Gen. Godwin Abbe (rtd.) Chief Ake and Prof. Ijeoma among others.
