Odemwingie partners Globacom to lift young stars

SUPER Eagles striker, Osaze Odemwingie, will give coaching tutorials to budding footballers in Plateau State and other cities in North Central Nigeria, today and tommorrow, thanks to Globacom Telecommunications Limited.

The Lille of France's attacking winger is one of Globacom's Ambassadors.

As the World Cup fever grips participating nations, with Nigerians still nursing the absence of the Super Eagles from the mundial, Globacom says the meet-the-fans tour of Jos and the tutorials for young players have been programmed to make the fans join the rest of the global football family in celebrating the World Cup fiesta.

"We want our subscribers and football-loving Nigerians to be part of the global football

celebrations as the world cup draws near and we are doing this by taking one of Nigeria's football

ambassadors to the fans in Jos," explained Mohamed Jameel, the chief operating officer of Globacom.

He noted that people in that region have not enjoyed the benefits of international matches involving the Super Eagles in over a decade, saying: "Globacom as the number one supporter of football in Nigeria is

committed to ensuring that all fans are provided equal opportunity to celebrate their passion".

In Jos, Odemwingie, the former Insurance of Benin player, will be the special guest at a grassroots five-a-side football match being organised by a private radio station, RayPower FM. He is expected to offer motivational talks to the young stars participating in the competition and distribute souvenirs to fans.

The final leg of his itinerary in the Tin City will be the meet-the-fans session at the recently launched Gloworld on Murtala Mohammed Road. The first 200 fans to arrive the Gloworld will have photo sessions with the star and be rewarded with autographed T-Shirts and other souvenirs.
