Everton ups Yobo's value
EVERTON's Manager, David Moyes, has stated that if any club wants to sign Nigerian international defender, Joseph Yobo, from The Toffees, the bids will have to be around 」8 million (12m).
Twenty Five -year-old Super Eagles' defender has just over a year left on his contract, and despite Everton's reporting that a renewed contract offer has been offered to the former Marseille star, no word has come from either Yobo, or his representatives with regards to signing a contract extension.
Yobo, who joined Everton in July 2002, has been valued at around 」4 million by his former club Marseille, as well as both Chelsea and Arsenal, with apparent interest from these clubs.
Moyes is unwilling to sell Yobo, but if he decides on a move, he wants double that figure to release the experienced international.
"I would have loved to hear a word from Joseph or his agents before the World Cup," said Moyes.
"I learnt in the papers that they want him for four million pounds, but I will recommend to the Everton board that we sell at eight million pounds, so we should be able to cash in on his movement if he decides to go."
